Pneumatic Probes are ideal for use in automatic gauging applications or for accessing details that would be difficult or impossible to reach using conventional spring push probes. Some materials such as glass or plastic, for example, require very low tip forces to avoid deforming the component and contact tip materials that do not leave mark. Other applications may require higher tip forces.

Analogue Automatic Probe - AX/P

The Standard range of Pneumatic Probes comes with an IP65 rating to ensure a long working life in wet or oily environments. In order to ensure the probe is totally sealed to IP65, actuation is achieved by pressurising the gaiter.

Analogue Jet - AJ/P
J’ Type probes are similar to Standard Pneumatic Probes except that actuation is by an inbuilt piston.
High tip forces are available but as air is vented through a port close to the front of the probe, they have a lower IP rating.

Feather Touch Analogue Gauging Probe - AT/P
Feather Touch Probes are designed specifically for applications where low tip forces are critical. Air is vented through the shroud at the front of the probe during actuation, which in turn cleans the bearing. With no gaiter to protect the shaft from contamination they are unsuitable for use in wet or oily conditions.

6mm Diameter Probes - D6JP

A novel approach to High Performance yet Compact Gauge 
Probes.

The lack of space to fit a gauge probe is often a problem for gauge builders and test engineers alike. Very small pencil style gauge probes have usually meant a reduction in performance and/or life expectancy, but that has now changed.

Solartron Metrology has taken a novel but practical route to solving the problem of close proximity gauging to produce the D6P range of narrow body Gauging Probes.

Up to 25 % reduction in diameter over conventional gauge probes has been achieved yet performance and life expectancy has been maintained, due to a completely new approach to the construction of gauge probes. Long life precision bearings ensure that probes maintain their performance for millions of cycles.
